We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of an essential workshop organized by our Center for Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation at Mogadishu University in partnership with the Somali Greenpeace Association. The workshop, titled “Exploring Innovation and Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Response to the Ban on Single-Use Plastics in Somalia,” focused on how innovative solutions can meet the community’s needs while reducing environmental harm.
Participants included members of civil society, university representatives, and students who shared their insights on market opportunities and ways to create environmentally sustainable businesses. The discussions highlighted how entrepreneurship can address pressing ecological issues and provide practical solutions that safeguard people, livestock, and the environment.
We extend our gratitude to everyone involved for their active participation and for bringing forward valuable ideas that contribute to a sustainable, plastic-free future. This workshop serves as a stepping stone towards building an entrepreneurial ecosystem committed to environmental well-being and community empowerment.
